Meet the Hydrow Athletes: Rowing, Motivation & Performance In-Person

Looking for motivation to kickstart your workouts -- or your goals -- this spring? We've got you covered!  The Agawam Public Library in partnership with the virtual rowing platform Hydrow, invites you to an inspiring evening with world-class athletes. Come hear their stories, learn about the sport of rowing, and discover what it takes to stay strong, focused and motivated.

Meet the Athletes who will join us for this event:

  • Aisyah Rafaee -- A two-time Olympic rower from Singapore, runner and coach who enjoys strength training and HYROX racing. She's a big believer that rowing makes her a better runner and running makes her a better rower.
  • Dani Hansen --  A two-time Paralympic Silver medalist rower for Team USA, multiple-time World Rowing Championships medalist and most-decorated Paralympic rower in U.S. History! Dani shares powerful insights on resilience, teamwork and personal growth.
  • James Dietz -- James is a U.S. National Champion in the single scull and has represented Team USA at the U23 World Championships and World Cup regattas. He has also competed in three U. S. Olympic Team Trials. Coached by some of the top coaches in the world, James brings elite-level knowledge and first-hand racing experience to help rowers of all levels achieve success.
  • Mac Evans -- A former Division 1 rower from Rugters University with six years of coaching and on-camera experience at Hydrow. Mac's coaching blends technique, storytelling and a supportive "we're in this together" approach to help athletes build strength, consistency and a genuine love for the sport.

Join the panel discussion with the athletes as they explain what it takes to perform at their high levels, and learn how rowing can help improve success in all other sports and make you a better athlete. Attendees will have an opportunity for hands on experience using one of the Hydrow rowing machines, and the evening also features a fun mini-rowing competition with prizes! Additionally, this event is a terrific opportunity to network with fellow rowers and coaches.

Whether you're curious about learning a new sport, preparing for your next race or simply looking to stay competitive and connected to the fitness community, this is an event you won't want to miss.

All current and aspiring athletes are encouraged to take part in this unique opportunity!
