Author Lecture with Robert Madison -- General Washington's Secret Armory

Author Lecture with Robert Madison -- General Washington's Secret Armory In-Person

Robert Madison’s lecture is about the untold service of Lt. Richard Falley and the military career of a Western Massachusetts Patriot in time to celebrate our country’s 250th Anniversary.

On July 2, 1775, General George Washington arrived in the Boston area to take command of the newly established Continental Army.

Falley supplied flintlock muskets from his secret armory at Mt. Tekoa in the foothills of the Berkshires.  The lecture includes Falley’s involvement as a prisoner and private in the 1756 French and Indian war followed by his 1775 service after the Lexington and Concord conflict, included are accounts of Colonel Knox’s Artillery Train and a comment made in a Westfield tavern, Falley’s involvement in the 1776 Battle of Bunker Hill, General Burgoyne’s 1777 surrender at Saratoga, NY, a history of Shays’ Rebellion, and ends with Falley’s Springfield Armory contract for 1,000 muskets in 1798.

Register today to learn about this forgotten piece of New England Revolutionary War history and celebrate our nation's 250th anniversary of independence .
